Industrial decarbonisation project for Catalan energy-intensive industries with hard-to-abate CO2 emissions

The ICIQ project focuses on assessing innovative technologies and testing materials and catalysts for CO2 capture, removal and release.
The project will encompass the design and manufacturing of pilot plants (at a scale of 250 kg/day of CO2 captured), for an advanced experimental phase.
These facilities will be mobile testing units where technology developers and industries can test the latest advancements in pre-industrial environments, generating a solid stable cooperation between researchers and experts and the energy-intensive industry of Catalonia.
Ultimately, this project aims to advance maturity of CO2 capture technologies in an economically viable, sustainable, and socially accepted way.
